Where does the name “PATOS” come from?

The quest to find out begins here. I’ll give you two hints: shoe and duck. Oh, and think about a foreign language relevant to our brand. Give us a holler when you figure it out :)

Do drawstring backpacks come for free with shoes?

PATOS sneakers come with matching drawstring backpacks. They’re worth $23, and are included free for a limited time. How cool is that?

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is free anywhere in the US. We offer $30 shipping to Canada and Australia as well!

How long do they take to ship?

If the shoes are in stock, they typically take 2-5 business days to arrive. Allow one business day to pick and pack your shoes, and another few days to ship through USPS Priority Mail.

How can I track my PATOS shipment?

We will automatically email you tracking information when your shoes ship :)

Can I exchange or return my shoes?

Yes – and you won’t pay a dime. Email happy@wearpatos.com with your order number as the email subject and ask for a return or exchange. We will gladly send you a return label and simple instructions.

(Please don’t send shoes back until you get our instructions, as they will likely get lost if we don’t know they’re coming!)

So, returns and exchanges are free?

Yes! We pay postage both ways within the US.

How long do refunds take to process?

This varies on your payment provider, but it will typically be returned within 7-10 days.

What conditions do PATOS artisans work in?

Picture a well-lit, clean and spacious workplace. Now add some groovy background music and a group of talented artisans. Can you see it?

How much do PATOS artisans get paid?

We're proud that our artisans are fairly compensated for their amazing work. PATOS artisans make between 3-5 times the Peruvian minimum wage. The variance depends on how many shoes we are making at a given time; during months where production is greater, compensation increases.

Do you have a risk-free trial policy? How does that work?

Yes! Allow me to explain.

We know it can be hard to get a true feel for shoes before actually putting them to use. We set out to save that problem with the 31-day Happiness Guarantee.

If you aren’t satisfied with your shoes, you can return them free of charge within 31 days. Yup, even if they’re used. Just know that once you start wearing your PATOS, there is an incredibly high chance of falling in love!

Where do you ship to?

We are happy to ship for free to the United States, where we are based. In addition, we offer international shipping to Australia and Canada for $25.


Where were my PATOS made?

PATOS sneakers are made by hand in Peru. Our limited-edition yoga flats are made in Argentina.

Does my purchase support artisans and their communities?

Your purchase helps support a sustainable wage and happy work environment for the artisans we work with. It’s our goal to promote their traditional textiles and high-quality craft in a responsible manner. That’s why we source 100% locally, meaning all shoes made in Peru have materials from Peruvian suppliers. Or, as one of the artisans we work with puts it, “Success for PATOS means success for us.”


What currencies do you accept?

Our products are priced in USD. We accept any currencies available through our credit card service providers, as well as PayPal, Apple Pay and Amazon Pay.
